Music has been the biggest part of Jill’s life for as long as she can remember. She spent the years of her childhood writing music with her big brother and singing in front of her family and friends any chance she could get. Every family party turned into an opportunity for Jill, her brother, and their cousins to put on a concert for everyone. At the age of 5, Jill began her musical journey, taking music classes and piano lessons. Later, she began classical training for both guitar and voice, starting at ages 9 and 11, respectively.
Jill absolutely loves putting a smile on the face of others through her performances. Sharing her passion for music with people is a special feeling that Jill believes is unlike anything other. She enjoys playing different genres of music, including modern pop to classic rock of the 70’s and 80’s.
In addition to entertaining at local venues, Jill has been involved in musical theatre for several years, participating in her school shows and local community theatre productions. Some of her favorite roles have been The Witch in Into the Woods, Miss Honey in Matilda, Catherine in Pippin, Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, and Wendy in Peter Pan.
Jill is an enthusiastic member of the music department at her high school as well and is extremely grateful to have been awarded a vocal scholarship. She enjoys participating in the many ensembles that her school offers, including Glee Club, Chorale, Girls with Guitars Club, Liturgical Music, and Jazz Band. Additionally, Jill is honored to be president of her school’s A cappella group and co-president of the music honor society.
Jill also takes part in Broadway Wishes, a student-run show that involves performers from many surrounding schools to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Through their performance and other fundraisers, the Broadway Wishes cast grants a critically ill child a wish.
Furthermore, Jill has served as a cantor at church for over 4 years at two different local parishes, singing at weekly services, funerals, and weddings. She was also very humbled to be a part of the Gaudeamus Music Ministry’s 30th annual Christmas concert, performing among many professional musicians. This non-profit ensemble raises money for organizations supporting the needy with a primary focus on education and children’s medical needs.
She plans to study music therapy in college, combining her love of music with her passion for helping those less fortunate and in need.
Keep up with Jill’s latest performances as she continues to pursue her love of music and strives to touch the hearts of others!
